The opportunity

A recurring-revenue business you can run from your kitchen table.

Twinkle Toes owners run home-based nanny agencies in a protected territory. You match families with pre-screened caregivers, build a local roster of trusted nannies, and earn recurring agency fees for as long as each placement lasts. No storefront, no facility overhead, no capacity caps, just a durable people business in one of the most resilient categories in the country.

The business, in four pieces.

The model is intentionally simple. It has to be. You're not going to scale by learning a hundred workflows, you're going to scale by executing four of them well.

Home-based, low overhead

No storefront, no facility lease, no capacity caps. You run the business from a home office with the systems, software, and playbooks corporate provides.

Recurring revenue by design

Families pay an ongoing agency fee tied to hours worked, so a placement can keep generating revenue for as long as the family and nanny stay together.

People business, not real estate

Your asset is a trusted local roster of screened nannies and the families who rely on them. That relationship equity is defensible in a way a physical location isn't.

Protected territory

Each Twinkle Toes owner gets exclusive rights to a defined territory, typically covering 150,000–400,000 population depending on market density.

How the money works

Placements compound.

Step 1

Family engages

A family requests a consultation. You listen, understand the fit, and quote a placement package tailored to their care type and hours.

Step 2

Match is made

You shortlist screened nannies from your roster. Family interviews, picks one, and starts. You earn a placement fee at start of care.

Step 3

Ongoing agency fee

For as long as the family employs that nanny, you earn a recurring agency fee tied to hours worked.

A day in the life

A real day.

Every owner runs it differently, but here's what a normal day looks like for a Twinkle Toes owner.

7:00–9:00

Work

The first stretch of the day before the house wakes up. Family inquiries, nanny follow-ups, and whatever needs a clear head.

9:00–9:45

Preschool drop-off

Out the door with your own children. The business waits. This is why the model is home-based.

10:00–12:00

Email

Back at the desk. Consultations, candidate screening, scheduling, and the day's placements.

12:30–1:00

Pickup

Back out for pickup, then home.

1:30–6:00

Work from phone

Working from your phone while you're with your children, running errands, and making dinner. Texts with nannies and families, quick approvals, and matches moving forward.

It's a people job, not a screen job. You'll spend more time in conversations than in spreadsheets, and this is a real full-time business. Most owners are putting in around 60 hours a week.

Your first year

A structured 12-month arc.

Months 1–2

Launch

6-week structured onboarding, in-person and remote. Territory activation, local SEO turned on, first recruiting funnel live. You meet your dedicated launch coach weekly.

Months 3–4

First placements

Recruiting and family inquiries are both running. You're interviewing nannies, taking consultations, and making your first matches.

Months 5–8

Rhythm

The business starts to feel like a business. You have repeat referrals, a growing nanny roster, and enough recurring revenue that new placements compound on top of the base.

Months 9–12

Scale

This is when your role starts shifting from operator to community leader, building referral relationships, deepening the roster, and deciding where you want the business to go next.

Who thrives as an owner.

There is no single background that guarantees success, but there is a pattern. Our strongest owners share these traits, not these résumés.

Former HR & talent professionals

You know how to interview, screen, and read a résumé between the lines.

Teachers and educators

You understand child development and parents already trust you.

Nurses and pediatric healthcare

You bring clinical credibility that families feel the second they meet you.

Community-connected parents

You know the moms, the schools, the neighborhoods. That's the whole game.

Operators from service businesses

You've run a roster, managed a schedule, and know what recurring revenue actually feels like.

Career changers with capital

You're done with the corporate ladder and ready to build something you own.
